How it all began:
One day I was in a pet shop to buy a collar for my rather large boxador. There was one that I liked and I asked if it was available in large sizes - "yes of course", said the saleswoman, "it is available up to size 45cm/17inch". Politely I suppressed a grin, thanked her: "unfortunately, that's not quite big enough" and left the shop.

I have been tailoring for myself for a long time - so why not for the dog as well? This is how the very first Hundsstern dog collar was created, which my Alfie wore regularly for many years. The name Hundsstern (Dog Star), which is German for Sirius, the brightest star, is both our label and motto *made for a star*.

And after that:
• Since the end of 2018 we focus on sewing pattern eBooks and tutorials for do-it-yourselfers. All patterns and instructions are bilingual in German and English, in cm and inches. The instructions have lots of photos and describe everything step-by-step, so that beginners can also achieve great results with them.
• Available since 2019 are stationery items with dog motifs (e.g. planners, notebooks, stickers, gift wrapping) for self-printing as PDF print files/printables.
